spring painting sale

Wave Petunias, 6 x 6 " oil on archival panel, ©2015, Fay Terry

$85 free shipping

My spring SALE begins today and I am offering all my 6x6 paintings with a 15% discount. Let me know if one you love has the full price shown and I will change the paypal button for you. I am also including free shipping. These two great deals will continue through the month of April. I hope you will take advantage of this chance to have one of the paintings you have admired at a bargain price!

I am planting vegetables and flowers in the garden and having fun getting an early start.  These pink petunias really were bright in a shiny hot pink pack of six plants. I love these longer days when I feel as if I am getting so many things accomplished.

Spring's Arrival 2

Spring's Arrival 2, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, Fay Terry

$100, free shipping

I am longing to see the bright yellow flowers on my Forsythia bushes, which always herald the arrival of spring in our garden. I checked yesterday when it was sunny and 65 degrees and could tell that they are on their way.  This is a painting from last year's series of Spring's Arrival Paintings. I am certain that I will paint these again soon when they begin to bloom about a week from now.  Happy anticipation is in the air now that we are getting close to a new season.

Morning Shadows

Window Box, 16 x 20" oil on canvas
SOLD
This is a favorite painting from the past and one of my favorite subjects to paint-windows with flower boxes and shadows. I will have to look for more opportunities to paint these when the weather becomes warmer and flowers are in bloom.
I am still in Charlotte and painting when I can, but the days with my grandkids have been lots of fun.

A Little Obsessed with stripes

Blue Vase, 8 x 8 " oil on gessobord panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

I have been picking lots of flowers and vegetables from the garden; these cute little cherry tomatoes were admiring the Zinnias so I let them be in the painting. It was nice to use larger panel this time after doing a few six inch paintings I wanted to go a little larger.

Please feel free to forward this to someone you think might enjoy it and they can subscribe to my blog if they like. I am trying to expand my subscriber list so any help you give me will be appreciated!

Hilltop Flowers

Wildflowers, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry
$100 free shipping

I spent some more time working on this painting that I posted at the beginning of the week. I knew I wanted to do more and I am happy with it now and thinking of doing it later in a larger format.
I'm looking forward to the week-end and spending time with family.
Hope you have a great week-end!

Spring Air

Flowery Branch, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100 plus shipping

There are lots of shadows on this bough hanging down from the Dogwood tree. I decided to try a different color background, which I think works well with the flowers and leaves.
I went to Raleigh this morning to pick up some paintings from a show and even managed to have lunch at one of my favorite places.
The trip meant that my painting did not get done until late afternoon, but it was nice to get away to the big city!

Camellia In Pink

Afternoon Sun, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

SOLD

This Camellia is blooming right below our bedroom window so I spotted it while the sun was on it.  The flowers are large and dramatic, but their glamour is short-lived.  This shrub has variegated flowers, showing up in many interesting variations.

Final Four

Glowing Narcissus, collage, ©2014, Fay Terry

Can you believe it's already Friday? I decided to make this a short series because there are so many things I am inspired to paint and I am working on some larger paintings at the same time. I can hardly wait to get into the studio each morning and work. Some days I have uninterrupted time, but most days there are little distractions and things to take care of that have me starting and stopping. I am learning to get back to work quickly and keep pushing myself. I feel so fortunate to love my job.

Saturday Special

Wide-Eyed, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord panel

$100, free shipping

This is from a different Forsythia plant with blossoms that are more upright and larger. It is the final one of this series and tomorrow I will show them all together in a collage. This is the brightest one and I really like the more pronounced orange centers these have.
Thank you for all of your comments, and I appreciate all the support I get from ya'll on a regular basis.

Flowers In Blue And White

Happy Crowd, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100

I painted this from a photo I took a couple of summers ago. I have painted it before and decided not to look at the previous painting so I could see how differently I would paint it now. I have some paintings to put in the mail today so I still have not had a chance to compare. I am happy with this one and love the colors.

Lively Lovelies

Floral Convergence, 16 X 20, ©2013, Fay Terry

I have been working on some commissions for Christmas gifts and having so much fun doing it.
If you would like to have me do a special painting for a gift, please let me know soon. I can accept just a few more commissions.

I am so grateful to all of you who have been keeping in touch and sending me comments, buying my work, both online and in galleries, and making me absolutely certain that there is a great deal of magic in ART! I have met so many wonderful people this year  that I might not have gotten to know except through painting.

Thanks, Ya'll! You keep me excited about creating art.

Daisies

Pink Presents, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2013, Fay Terry

I have been enjoying these Gerbera Daisies in one of my favorite blue vases. I love having all these the same color but it will be fun to mix up the colors when more of them start blooming.

I hope you are having a great week-end!
Thanks for  looking.

A Favorite Sign

Signaling Spring, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2013, Fay Terry

$100, free shipping

Wisteria is beginning to drip its sweet aromatic flowers from the high places on which it has climbed. I have long been in love with this quickly passing burst of color.
I may have mentioned that I planted some to grow up on our newly built pergola and it is growing well but not yet blooming so I have to seek other places to find it.  Fortunately, I know all the good places in town where it grows.

Thirty Day Challenge Begins

Birthday Boots, 6 x 6" oil on archival panel, ©2013, Fay Terry
$100 includes shipping

This is the first painting for the thirty paintings in thirty days challenge that I am doing with Leslie Saeta and about 250 other artists.  It is going to be fun! I did not choose a theme because I prefer to just see what evolves as I go.

Making Every Summer Minute Count

Summer Bouquet, 6x6" oil on panel, ©2012, Fay Terry

We just got back from Austin, Texas. We attended Aunt Eleanor's ninetieth birthday party and had a great time with relatives we had not seen in quite a while. Austin is a terrific city. It was hot, but without the humidity we're used to in N.C., so it didn't feel bad at all.
It was nice to get back into my studio today and this is what I painted. Once again, it rained in the late afternoon so I had a hard time getting a good photo outside.

A Friend From France

Belle Vache Francaise,(Beautiful French Cow),8x8" oil on cradled panel, ©2012, Fay Terry

It's those eyes that draw you toward this magnificent creature on a chilly September morning in Brantome, France. We have hiked up the steep incline behind our hotel before breakfast and even before coffee.  It is worth the climb as we survey the beautiful countryside from this high spot.
There are several cows behind a wire fence and this one is the first to come over and greet us. We take photos to remind us of this special morning.

Green Thumb Envy

Cape Cod Window, 6 x 6 " oil on archival panel, ©2012, Fay Terry

When I visit friends and relatives in New England it amazes me how beautiful their window boxes and gardens are at the peak of summer. Flowers in our hot humid climate often fizzle by late July. This year may be different here since we have had almost no days in the 90's. Nothing is choking for lack of water and the water use restrictions we sometimes have are not  mentioned.
I am betting on one thing though. If the heat does get bad, I have friends in cool places that I will be visiting, looking at their gardens with envy.

Planting To Be Done

New Watering Can, 8 x 8 " oil on gessobord panel, ©2012 Fay Terry

This bench would be a good place to sit in the garden if I weren't always working in it.  My daughter and my husband found this great galvanized watering can with copper trim and gave it to me for Mother's Day. I have been using it every day to water the flowers.
This painting was fun to do because of the shadows and the sunlit bench. Unfortunately the air conditioning is not working upstairs where my studio is and I was dripping wet by the time I finished.
