Potted Petunias

Wave Petunias, 6 x 8 " oil on Raymar Panel, ©2015, Fay Terry

Our deck has eight huge pots of flowers that we can enjoy from the windows. The hummingbirds have been plentiful and so have the flowers which cascade to the floor, requiring regular trimming. I decided to paint each of them, this is the first.
By the time I complete them it will be time to fill them with Pansies that will last through the winter. Even if we have a bit of snow, they bounce right back.

I will be participating in Leslie Saeta's Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days Challenge. This will be the fourth time I have done the challenge, it is a great way to meet artists, gain inspiration, and have lots of fun. Tomorrow is  day one, so I hope you'll follow along.

Wave Petunias, 6 x 6 " oil on archival panel, ©2015, Fay Terry

$85 free shipping

My spring SALE begins today and I am offering all my 6x6 paintings with a 15% discount. Let me know if one you love has the full price shown and I will change the paypal button for you. I am also including free shipping. These two great deals will continue through the month of April. I hope you will take advantage of this chance to have one of the paintings you have admired at a bargain price!

I am planting vegetables and flowers in the garden and having fun getting an early start.  These pink petunias really were bright in a shiny hot pink pack of six plants. I love these longer days when I feel as if I am getting so many things accomplished.

Plein Air In The Backyard

Fay Terry "STONE DOG", oil on 6x6" gessobord panel, ©2012

I liked Karen Werner's idea in a recent post. I decided to emulate her and paint in my own backyard which was so much more fun than packing everything up and driving to a spot to paint.
I started early this morning and it worked out well because it was in the mid eighties not long after I finished. This dog has been faithfully holding the basket for about fifteen years and is perched on a low brick wall beside some steps. These are some new and tiny little petunias that we found at Lowe's last week-end, said to be very drought resistant.

Ready For Bed

Ready For Bed

I'm talking about these flowers, and maybe me, too.
I just love it  that so many of the containers  bedding plants
are sold in now are as colorful as the flowers. These Petunias need to be
planted soon but they have kind of had to wait in line.  I think it just might be their
turn tomorrow.
