Cyber Monday Special

Pine Cone On Red, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100
Cyber Monday special,  free frame is included with this painting if you buy it before midnight on December 1st.
Once again there are huge pine cones in the yard, especially after some windy days; they are always fun to paint.  This one is available and if you buy it on Cyber Monday, I will frame it in a lovely black wood Franken frame for free. The background of the painting is red even though it looks a little pink in the bottom photo.

Time To Paint

With Love From Pinehurst, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord panel

will be available framed at One Eleven Main, Aberdeen, NC

These are busy times with lots of fun things happening. I have a painting in the Fine Arts League Of Cary show and would love to see you at the opening reception on Sunday, December 7, from 2-4 at the
Page-Walker center in Cary.
Also coming up is the first Friday artwalk in downtown Raleigh, from 6-9pm on December 5th. I have some paintings at Visual Art Exchange on West Martin St. I hope you'll drop by if you are in the area.

I am back to one of my favorites-painting pinecones. All of a sudden I realized there were none available as they have all sold. Time to replenish. Let me know if you want one with a special background color.

Purple and Gray

Picked Pansy, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

SOLD

Here's another Pansy that I painted a while back. I like the gray background and the soft edges of the flower. Glass jars are fun to paint, but usually challenging.
This has been a great week-end since we spent it at the beach.  It was cool, but sunny and we had a fun and relaxing time. I worked at the gallery Saturday afternoon; we were pretty busy and sales were brisk.
I hope you had some fun with family and friends this week-end, and maybe some sunshine, too.

Tapestry

Makes Me Smile, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100 plus shipping

What fun it was painting this Pansy and the tiny basket.
We usually get the "Monet Mix" variety of pansies, this time we found some called "Tapestry" at Gulley's Garden Center that have a wide range of colors and patterns in the flowers. The thing I love about pansies is their hardiness throughout the winter and into next spring. If we have snow and ice, they slow down but always make a quick comeback.

Camellia Time

Unfolding, 6 x 6" oil on gessobord, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100 plus shipping

This is one of my favorite vessels to stick small fresh flowers into.  It came home with me from Provence when I went on a painting trip with a group of friends.  I have been busy painting, but not posting as often as usual due to traveling to a portrait workshop for several days last week. I plan to show you some photos soon and tell you  about the wonderful teacher we worked with.

When I arrived home on Saturday, I was thrilled to see my new art book which I pre-ordered many months ago. It is Carol Marine's new book, Daily Painting . Fantastically put together with lots of colorful photos and a complete sharing of everything Carol has learned since she began  painting, it is  the best  resource I have seen for artists who may wish to take up this practice or just learn to paint joyfully.

Ready To Cook

Fresh Beets, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord, ©2014, Fay Terry

These will make a delicious and colorful contribution to our dinner tonight.
I was late getting started on this painting and it is almost starting to get dark. It's hard to get used to the sun going down so early; there was just enough light to photograph.  I am pleased with the way this worked out since I wanted to capture the many hues of the beets and the greens.

I am taking a portrait workshop for the next few days and will try to post when I can.

Pansy Basket

Sitting Pretty, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord,  Fay Terry

SOLD

Tomorrow I'll be planting Pansies; we still have a couple of flats that have not made it into the garden yet.  This is a repost of one of my favorites from the past. I am so happy to be back in the studio after being away last week.
