Morning At Lobster Cove, 9 x 12" oil on Raymar Panel,©Fay Terry, 2015
When I painted rocks and ocean for the first time last week, I discovered that it is destined to become a favorite subject for me to paint. I loved the puzzle-like challenge, the wind coming off the water, and the sound of the waves.
North Carolina beaches are mostly flat and sandy, with dunes and seagrass, a different kind of beauty. These rocks will keep me coming back to New England each summer, which I have been doing anyway for years. Standing on the rocks and painting is a great experience.
