Camellia

Camellia In Yellow Pitcher, 6 x 6 " oil on archival panel, ©2013, Fay Terry
$100 includes shipping

There is something about these flowers that I cannot even describe except to say that I feel almost sentimental about them.  I cut them and bring them into the house starting in December and the shrubs are still blooming as we get into spring.
When one variety stops blooming another seems to start. I love their dark shiny leaves.
I have a big vase full of them on the kitchen table and they have lasted almost two weeks, they don't wilt, the whole flower just falls off the stem onto the table.
I want to paint more of them in the next couple of weeks so you'll be seeing them again soon.

Thanks for looking at my blog.

  1. This one is awesome! I love the way you painted the flower coming out of the decoratively painted mug. It's a cool juxtaposition of style and I like that.
