Swedish Bird

This is another bird I have been wanting to paint so I did a quick sketch to get an idea for a little bit larger square painting.
The snow is melting more today, but schools were closed again and it is still very cold. I will be glad to see some warmer winter temperatures than what we have been having.

  1. Surely you didn't see this bird in Pinehurst, NC. It's a European bird, a Great Tit (Parus major) and you can hear it's call here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4Zyoe2zSH0. You can also read more about them hare: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Tit.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog via Brenda's, a great painter, friend, and a profile in courage. (I post comments using this pseudonym but the link takes you with a couple of clicks to my art blog.) Happy painting with your forthcoming larger "Swedish Bird". Oh those bird namers sure have a sense of humor, eh?

  2. our bird feeders are full of birds too. It's funny, this bird eats at this time of day and this kind of bird eats at this time of day. Love the color through the window and on the side of the house.
