Cool Melon

Favorite Melon, 6 x 6 " oil on panel

$100, free shipping

Cantaloupe is not yet in season locally and that is when they taste best, but it won't be long.
Many old timers call them muskmelons and they are actually correct. No cantaloupes are grown commercially in the U.S., only muskmelons. Cantaloupes are a rough warty fruit while muskmelons have the characteristic netting on the fruit rind. I love them by either name and could not resist giving this painting  another bright color along with the orange fruit.
