Bullfrog On The Rocks

Bullfrog On The Rocks
6 x 6 in. oil on panel

There is something  comforting to me about the sound of the frogs, making their loud moo-like noises.  A summer night wouldn't be the same without them.  I look forward every spring to their coming out.  They are very much at home in the pond and can usually be found sitting in the sun  during the day. The circular spot on the side of his head is an eardrum, which is easily recognizable on all Bullfrogs.

  1. Very fun! He looks like he is going to jump any minute. You captured the feeling.

  2. This frog is so adorable, Fay! I adore frogs, and have quite a collection of frog "things", but never new about that circular spot being the eardrum. Hmmm . . . maybe you should consider doing a "frog" series!
