Twenty Four Of Thirty

Walking To The Pier, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100 plus free shipping

This was a very enjoyable painting to do, especially since this is one of my favorite spots on Oak Island. This was in the morning and it was already extremely sunny.  I usually only spend time on the beach before ten am and after four pm, to avoid the hot sun.
This woman had a very dark tan and looked as if she spent a lot of time on the beach. She turned a few heads as she walked, looking great in her bright yellow top.  I loved it in combination with the rainbow of colors on the umbrella.
This will soon be going to one of my galleries at the beach so let me know if you are interested. I will also be glad to frame it for you for an additional twenty-five dollars.
Thanks for viewing my art and for all the great comments.

Day Sixteen Of Thirty

Older Brother, Younger Sister 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100 plus shipping

These siblings were so cute together at the beach on Oak Island and big brother was very protective of his sister. I felt as if I were back on the beach while I was painting this. I love painting ocean scenes.
The waves were high and the beach was full on this early September morning. Summer is my favorite time of year but I am happy that we have four different seasons to enjoy.
Thank you for following my blog.

Long Week End

Staying For Lunch, 12 x 6" oil on panel, ©2013, Fay Terry

$125, free shipping

This has been a fun four days for me and my family as we got together at the beach.  My husband
made it for about twenty four hours since he was working most of the week-end. We had all three of our children and our two grand daughters, both two year olds.
We saw the Southport fireworks on the 4th, and the Oak Island fireworks on the 6th, and had a great time all week end, with really nice weather.
There were lots of people on the beach and the color of this cover up was a popular neon color for beach attire.

People On The Beach

Friendly Fisherman, 5 x 7 " oil on panel, ©2012, Fay Terry

We met this cigar smoking fisherman when we walked on the beach at Oak Island. We were impressed with the number of fish that he had caught so he pulled one unusual fish out of the bucket to show us. It's always so much fun to chat with beach people, who seem  relaxed and unhurried. Southerners are known for our slower pace and this can be beneficial because there is more time to converse with people and visit.

Playing At The Beach

Playing At The Beach
What could be better than a big straw hat and lots of toys to play with beside the ocean.  This little girl was having fun with her friends at Oak Island, NC.

Sailing At Oak Island

Sailing At Oak Island
This is from a photo that I took last week at the beach from our back deck.  There were so many boats out in the water that day, most of them were fishing boats, but when I saw this sailboat approaching I really wanted a picture of it. It was quite large which is hard to tell from the painting. My friends who have owned boats still say the two best days are the day you buy the boat and the day you sell it.
