Fall Festivities

Muffy's Party, 6 x 6 " oil on archival panel, ©2013, Fay Terry

$100. Halloween Special
$75. until October 16th

I just love these bright little pumpkins and the tablecloth beneath them.  They are giving off lots of energy and reminding me of the fun of October.
Soon it will be time for the State Fair in Raleigh, which is where I grew up and attended the fair every year. I hope we get to go this year.

Thanks for looking at my art!

Halloween Special

Ghostly Pumpkin, 6 x 6 " oil on archival panel, ©2013, Fay Terry

$100.
reduced price (ends October 16th) so you can have it by Halloween
$75.00

What a spooky fun pumpkin this is! I love the white pumpkins and almost made a Jack-o-Lantern out of this one. Maybe I'll do that soon and paint it again. We are so fortunate to live in a neighborhood where everybody decorates (a lot!) for Halloween and we have huge numbers of trick or treaters.
My husband and I even dress up to answer the doorbell.
This painting  comes with a free easel so you can enjoy it on a tabletop year after year.

Thanks for all your comments and support of my daily paintings. I love doing this!

Friendly Grin

Move Over, Pirate! 5x7" oil on museum quality panel, ©2012, Fay Terry

These tall metal buckets have long lasting candles inside so they line the walk up to the front door. They really look great all lit up at night, half of them are orange and half are black. I'm going to start lighting them every night next week.  Our neighborhood goes all out decorating for Halloween and there are already several houses all lit up each night.  One of my neighbors has a really great circle of ghosts in the front yard that look pretty spooky at night.
Everybody gets really creative and I think the adults have as much fun as the kids.

Wise Guy

Watchful Eyes, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2012, Fay Terry

SOLD

Owls are perceived as wise and intelligent birds. Have you ever wondered how they got this reputation?
Owls are nocturnal and see very well at night.  This ability has enabled them to be considered manifestations of wisdom. They are often connected in folk tales with studious scholars and wise humans. One of the earliest depictions of owls can be seen with Athena, the goddess of wisdom.  She is often holding an owl. The wizard, Merlin, kept an owl, and in the Harry Potter books, student wizards communicated by messenger owls.
Some also consider them spooky because of their connection with the dark.  I think this one looks pretty friendly!

This was especially fun to paint since Halloween is coming soon. I just love all the fun and decoration for this holiday.
