I decided to paint some okra just picked from the garden, and then I was offered the use of one of my favorite plates by my son's wife Kim.  I have always loved these colorful shiny plates.  So the okra was kind of overshadowed by the cool design of the plates.

Pepper Jack And Plums

My friend Teej can sure put together a pretty snack plate!  This is one of those delicious red plums that I painted on Monday along with some cheese and grapes.  We have had a lot of fun this week and I really hate to leave Bald Head .  Below is a picture of me hard at work in my satellite studio.

Hogsnapper

This is my new favorite fish because of it's beautiful  coloration and the three dorsal spines.The Hogfish is very unusual in that it is protogynous, that is, it begins life as female and changes later to male.  The really large fish are probably male.  The Hogsnapper is a flavorful fish and can be found off the coast of North Carolina as well as other fishing spots.

I am at Bald Head Island painting this week and we just went to the Maritime Market and found luscious plums.  They are the deepest shade of red and are really large.  Tomorrow I will have  a beach painting for you!

Cookie Jar

Cookie Jar

This is the treat jar for my two dogs.  It stays on the kitchen counter and is a great motivator for Camden and Pixie.  If they are somewhere else in the house and I lift the lid, they come running.  I don't know how they always hear it, but they do.
