Sweet, tart, red and juicy are the best words to describe one of my favorite fruits. My mom used to buy lots of fruit when we were growing up and I always loved plums. We had wild plums growing in our yard, but they were really small like cherries and only good for cooking and making plum jelly or jam.

It's hard to believe we are approaching the end of January and the completion of the thirty paintings challenge. It has been great and I have seen so many wonderful paintings from all the artists.

I love tablecloths, especially those with  stripes. This painting is quite large and I like the fact that the canvas is square and the table is oblong. I really enjoyed painting this still life set up while I was in the workshop in Florida with Alice Williams. I used cobalt blue and white for the stripes and I think that gives it a very fresh and lively feeling. This painting will be going to One Eleven Main as soon as I frame it.

My friend Teej can sure put together a pretty snack plate!  This is one of those delicious red plums that I painted on Monday along with some cheese and grapes.  We have had a lot of fun this week and I really hate to leave Bald Head .  Below is a picture of me hard at work in my satellite studio.

I am at Bald Head Island painting this week and we just went to the Maritime Market and found luscious plums.  They are the deepest shade of red and are really large.  Tomorrow I will have  a beach painting for you!
