Our area is excited about the back to back U.S. Opens that will be held here soon.

There has been so much preparation done to host both of these Championships at the famed Pinehurst No. 2 Course. This will be the third time we have had the honor of attracting the U.S. Open Golf tournament, but the first time we have had the Women's Open the week following the Men's.

If you love golf, this is the place to be for two weeks in June.

When I came up with the title for this painting, I was reminded of the wonderful plethora of pine related names we have here. The towns of Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Pine Bluff, Whispering Pines, as well as resorts like Pine Needles Lodge, Pinehurst Resort, Mid Pines Inn, Pinecrest Inn- you get the idea. It's a pretty terrific place to live.
