I happened to find some more colored glass to paint at my favorite coffee shop. We usually sit outside but the weather didn't allow it so we sat inside where I realized each of the front windows had several glass bottles on the sill.
Even though it was not a sunny day, the light coming in was pretty good so I took lots of photos with my phone and I am looking forward to taking more next time it is sunny. These were so much fun to paint! Thanks, Java Bean Plantation!
Beautiful. I love these types of bottles and paintings. I am constantly coming home from thrift store treasure hunts with new and exciting bottles. My sweetie is wondering if I have an addiction. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dave! I like to collect them, too. I have some shelves in my studio where I keep still life props but now my favorite is glass. It took me a long time to learn to paint glass and of course, I am still learning. That's the great thing about painting--always more to learn.
DeleteWonderful subject! Love the color and sparkle.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you handle the light refractions in the glass bottles. And the colors, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is great. I agree with JM the structure and the colors are wonderful and you notice that you don't need sun with glass.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary, I appreciate that. I am learning all the time and I really thought I wouldn't be able to see the light and reflections, etc. without sunlight. It really is true when people say just paint what you see!
DeleteLovely! Great color palette. :)
ReplyDeleteFay, I love, love, love this! Great job... The coffee shop you blogged about sounds like a wonderful place to stop in for a cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Fay...this painting sparkles!
ReplyDeleteSuch Nice Glass.
ReplyDeleteLove the abstract shapes and reflections in the bottles - wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like it! Nice.
ReplyDeleteYou have a special knack of portraying colored glassware,I love the distorted view looking through them.
