Morning Apple

Divided By Eight, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100

There are so many ways to cut up apples. When I was fixing my apple this morning, I decided that it might be fun to paint. It was good to have as my set up in the studio because I could eat it shortly after I finished.

I found an interesting site which you might enjoy---number four is a good one for Valentine's Day.  Click on the link to view.

Cutting Up Apples

Braeburn On The Block, 5 x 7" oil on linen panel

DONATED

I am always cutting up apples for something so I decided I might as well paint this one while I was at it.  I cut it yesterday and got as far as the drawing before I decided it was too cold in my studio and getting dark.  Today it looked pretty fresh, but was turning somewhat yellow so I had to paint the flesh as I remembered it. At least it didn't end up in my apple crisp last night.

Sunlit apple

Not Enough Apples, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2013, Fay Terry

$100. free shipping

It would be nice to make an apple crisp for a cool night like this but, as you can see...
We have been eating a lot of apples and other fruit so it's time to restock.

Have a happy week-end!

American Apple

American Apple

I have been painting a lot of Granny Smith apples lately but today I chose a bright red apple.
I learned something new today about U. S. apple production-we rank second in number of  apples grown, and China ranks number one with about seven times more than the four million tons of apples we produce.  And the top apple growing state?  Washington! (but North Carolina is in the top ten).
