I am pleased to report that this painting sold during the Penick Village Art Show which was held this past week-end. It is one of my recent favorites with a title based on a poem by

Rachel Field.

I also have two new paintings in a show opening today at Franklin Square Gallery in Southport, NC .

If you are close to the Wilmington area, I hope you can take a look. I helped with receiving paintings on Friday and there are many wonderful works that will be hanging there through Saturday, March 21st.  You are also invited to the First Friday reception on March 6th (with wine and delicious nibbles.)

I had fun painting the duck in the grass since I wanted to do a very close up painting.

This concludes my series of ducks for a while and tomorrow I will be moving on to another subject which may or may not become a series. I really enjoyed this group of paintings and I thank you for looking at my blog.

This scene reminds me of how much I love walking barefoot on soft green grass- just think, chickens get to do it all the time. These are free range chickens so they can appreciate the space they have to wander in.
