Farmer's Market

Farmer's Market, Aberdeen, NC, 20 x 24"oil on canvas, ©Fay Terry

This painting was done about seven years ago when we began having Farmer's Market Days in various spots in Moore County. I painted most of this en plein air on a sweltering day in early summer. The boxes on the table were full of sweet potatoes.
I was very happy with the way the painting turned out and I now have it hanging on the brick wall on our screened porch. Some paintings are meant to stay with the artist, I guess.
I am looking forward to painting more scenes like this.

Blue Eyes

White Bunny, 6 x 6 "oil on archival panel, ©2015, Fay Terry

$100 plus shipping

Here's another cute bunny waiting for spring and Easter. I may have mentioned that I once had a pet bunny in my classroom when I taught kindergarten and first grade. The children loved him and learned a great deal about rabbits and pets in general. It was a high maintenance chore to keep him clean, fed, exercised outdoors, and all the other things he needed. Dogs are much simpler.

Beau Lapin, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord, ©Fay Terry, 2015

Just in time for Easter, I have bunny paintings that will be at One Eleven Main, the fabulous store  in
Aberdeen where many of my paintings are for sale. If you do not live in the area, and you are interested in this one, just email me (fterry@nc.rr.com)
The price is $100, unframed. When it goes to One Eleven Main it will be framed and priced accordingly.
Today has been a gorgeous spring day and a good day for working in the yard. Spreading lime on the lawn was today's chore.

The Yellow Pot

Heavenly Hyacinths, 18 x 24" oil on canvas

NFS

You may already know how much I love these flowers which are not only beautiful, but also fun to
paint. They don't last too long so it's best to place them in a spot where I walk by them frequently to
enjoy their color and fragrance. The pears were a last minute addition to the set up and I am glad they
 are in the painting.

Sunny Day Flowers

Shouting Spring, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord, ©2015, Fay Terry

It's a beautiful day in Pinehurst and I decided these needed painting because they are so cheerful.
It's amazing how wonderful everything looks and feels on a warm and sunny day.
I hope you had a great week-end.

White Hyacinth

White Hyacinth, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord, © Fay Terry

These flowers have the most wonderful scent, not overpowering, but sweet. I have always loved Hyacinths and I especially enjoy the variety of colors. They are easy to grow and always put on a beautiful show.

Now that all my Forsythias are loaded with blooms, I am having fun painting more of them.  They are so bright and cheerful and I have cut some long pieces and put them in vases to add spring color to the house.

Colors Of Spring

Crocuses In Bloom, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord, © Fay Terry

SOLD

These flowers are blooming everywhere in my neighborhood in cute little clumps of color.  When I was in Chapel Hill recently I walked by hundreds of them. I love seeing them popping up as if they are saying, "wake up, it's spring!"  The Forsythia and Hyacinths are in full bloom and the Wisteria vines growing on the roadside trees cannot be far behind.

Spring is showing its best early arriving flowers and the crocuses always catch me by surprise.
Today we even have spring temperatures; it is 72 degrees right now and we are getting ready to go walk the trail around Reservoir Park.

Crocuses are so wonderful! They have been known to peek out from the snow, but not these.  They are enjoying the sun which we have had in abundance today.
Happy Anniversary to my fabulous husband!

Spring's Arrival 2

Spring's Arrival 2, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, Fay Terry

$100, free shipping

I am longing to see the bright yellow flowers on my Forsythia bushes, which always herald the arrival of spring in our garden. I checked yesterday when it was sunny and 65 degrees and could tell that they are on their way.  This is a painting from last year's series of Spring's Arrival Paintings. I am certain that I will paint these again soon when they begin to bloom about a week from now.  Happy anticipation is in the air now that we are getting close to a new season.

Summer View

If Once You Have Slept On An Island, 24 x 20 " oil on canvas, ©2014, Fay Terry

I am pleased to report that this painting sold during the Penick Village Art Show which was held this past week-end. It is one of my recent favorites with a title based on a poem by
Rachel Field.
I also have two new paintings in a show opening today at Franklin Square Gallery in Southport, NC .
If you are close to the Wilmington area, I hope you can take a look. I helped with receiving paintings on Friday and there are many wonderful works that will be hanging there through Saturday, March 21st.  You are also invited to the First Friday reception on March 6th (with wine and delicious nibbles.)
