September Morning, BHI, 11 x 14 oil on panel, ©2013, Fay Terry
I spent the day painting in my studio on a rare pre-holiday, uninterrupted day.
This is one of two paintings I worked on today and neither of them is completely finished.
The lighthouse on Bald Head Island is a commission and just needs a little more work. I painted this scene a couple of months ago in a 5 x 7 format. This larger one was even more fun.
I took a workshop this past week-end in Cary at Waverly Artists Group and had a wonderful time painting and getting to know some wonderful artists from around the state. Our instructor was Maggie Siner who presented us with challenging painting exercises. Maggie is an excellent teacher and a fantastic artist.
The sun just came out after a couple of days of rain so I am heading out for a walk.
This is a beautiful painting, Fay! Ooh, you got to study with Maggie Siner… how wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLovely work Fay. I think your purchaser is going to be delighted with this work.
ReplyDeleteLove this Fay, especially like the perspective and the lights and shadows on the light house.
