I am fascinated by moths. There are many more species of moths than butterflies, which make up a very small percentage of the Lepidoptera order. Moths account for about 94% of the Lepidoptera order.
I think my interest in all this goes back to when I was a child and my dad taught me a great deal about insects. I don't remember a lot of it, but it seems to be coming back to me.
When I was about ten years old, the Raleigh Times newspaper interviewed me about my butterfly collection and put my photo in the evening paper. Those were the days when Raleigh had a morning paper, The News And Observer, as well as an evening paper.
