Pumpkin Prop

Sweet Pumpkin, 6 x 6" oil on gessobord panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100 plus shipping

These red leaves are from a recent walk around the reservoir; I decided they would make a nice piece of "jewelry" for this pumpkin. I am very pleased with this little painting and hope that you enjoy it, too.
It has been a really nice week-end here in the Sandhills, with plenty of sunshine and a touch of chilliness in the early mornings.

Shapely

Delectable, 6 x 6 " oil on gessobord, ©2014, Fay Terry

Available at Visual Art Exchange, Raleigh NC

The pears have such beautiful color and flavor this fall.  They really glow when light falls on them. The best part of setting up pear still lifes is getting to eat the fruit when I am through with them. These will pose a few more times for me, I think.
This has been such an exceptionally fine fall week-end. We got back from the beach a short while ago and I had enough daylight left to photograph this after I finished, now it is dark.

Just a reminder, calendars are available now for 2015 and they are popular so let me know if you'd like one, or purchase below.  To see  the monthly art selections, please go to my post from October 13th.

My 2015 desk calendars are now available while supplies last.  Each
month displays a different painting from the past year. The calendars measure 4" x 8" and are
self standing.  Perhaps a stocking stuffer, hostess gift, or gift for a favorite
friend or teacher?

$100 plus shipping

These are the most delicious grapes I've ever bought. They are also beautiful so I just had to paint them.
I am pleased with the way this turned out and how much fun I had doing this painting.
Have a great week-end!

Today is my 1000th post on this blog! I am happy to say that I have really enjoyed the habit of painting daily. I send out a huge Thank You to Carol Marine who got me started with Daily Paintings when I took her workshop in February, 2011.  I have learned so much from doing these small paintings and plan to keep it going for a long time. The main emphasis for me is on honing my skills as an artist, so  every one I paint teaches me something.

My 2015 desk calendars are now available while supplies last.  Each
month displays a different painting from the past year.  Below you can
see each month's art selection.  The calendars measure 4" x 8" and are

Time For Apples

The Fruits Of Fall, 6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100 plus shipping

The Camellias are big bloomers right now; I am glad I picked these before the heavy rain began since they sometimes lose petals when we have  prolonged wet weather.
I bought this Mercury glass vase the other day just so I could paint it. This was a fun challenge and I can't wait to try it again soon.
Hope you've had a happy and productive (or relaxing) week-end. Thanks for stopping by.

White Camellia

Camellia, Delft Vase  6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100

I love painting these flowers that are blooming now.  This is the first white one I have painted since my husband planted this new color. All our others are either deep pink or red and white striped.  It seems early for them to be in bloom but I am always happy to see them. I have painted many in the past and never tire of trying to capture their unique beauty.

Tomato Tuesday

No Garlic, No Guac!  6 x 6 " oil on panel, ©2014, Fay Terry

$100 plus shipping
Sold

Guacamole is a favorite at our house when I make it with a nice ripe avocado, chopped tomatoes, fresh lime juice, garlic, and salt and pepper. There's no garlic in this painting because I forgot to include it in my studio set up that I painted this from. It is pretty unlikely that I would not have garlic on hand. I just planted some in the garden which will give us a nice spring crop of garlic. Love these spidery looking leaves around the stems.

Something else I love is hummus and I buy a certain store brand but would love to have a good recipe to make it. Please send it to me if you have one you love.  Thanks!

These blue stripes look much more electric in the photo than they do in person. I think blue is the most difficult to photograph.

On My Easel

More work on this tomorrow. I set up this still life in my studio and will finish it tomorrow. You'll be happy to know that it will not contain pink stripes once it is completed. So far it has been fun and I hope to get an early morning start.
Thanks for looking at my blog.
